Mr. Mujika told the local radio that the car is a gift from his friends and “if I sells it, it would hurt them” and that “as long as I live, the car sleeps in the garage and sometimes takes a walk.”

During a live interview in a TV station in the capital Montevideo, he gave a 100 Uruguayan peso bill (about four dollars, 480 yen) to a homeless man in need.

The president said: When the man asked him for money, he had no coin and gave him to a bill. The man who was given money shouted out “I want him to be the president forever!”
